If you are strapped for cash, there are so many other ways to “give” during this Christmas period: You need money to buy gifts, and time is money! So offer them your time:
1) Help with chores or tasks such as running errands, ironing or babysitting
2) Personal shopping for new clothing
3) Housecleaning and organization
4) Going out to lunch or bringing a homemade meal
5) Refrigerator purging and cleaning (this is especially helpful for someone who has trouble reading the expiration dates on food containers.)
6) Grocery shopping and putting away groceries – Elderly would love this as it’s a day out with someone and halves the burden of shopping and putting things away!
7) Providing transportation to a social event, a doctor's appointment, or an entertainment venue
8) Offer to house / dog / cat sit
9) If you have a trait, i.e. you are a hairdresser or know how to do something they don’t, offer them your services
10) Offer to cook them a gourmet meal on their birthday or anniversary (you will be chef and the server for the night!) Print your gift voucher using a professional template from www.vistaprint.com/marketing-materials/gift-certificates/
